Birds With Broken Wings, Ben Caplan's ambitious second studio album, showcases a grand production with big arrangements. Recorded in Montreal, the album features contributions from 35 world class musicians. In addition to Caplan’s glorious voice, the album’s instrumentation includes vibrophone, cimbalom, and a whole host of percussion, woodwinds, horns and strings. Notably, the track 40 Days and 40 Nights features an arrangement composed by famed trombonist Fred Wesley, renowned for his work with James Brown. Caplan's expressive vocals navigate through a tapestry of folk, blues, and Eastern European influences, delivering songs that explore themes of love, loss, and redemption.
